There is a commonly held view that a person armed with a knife is less dangerous than a person armed with a firearm. The truth is that within their practical ranges both weapons are capable of fatal life stopping wounds with a greater chance of mortality from an edge weapon then a firearm. The training methods we teach are straight forward, effective, and usable by people of even average ability.
Instructor Kevin Gallagher style will teach you tactics with or without a weapon along with the how and why of the principles and the conceptual motion to defend yourself. All curriculums emphasize the concepts of awareness, avoidance, and de-escalation.
This work shop begins by reviewing some essential precepts which reinforces basic self defense principles. Very quickly we work into areas such as use of empty hands against knife, knife against knife and knife to gun transition.

Based on a non-lethal tool called the Gunting. The Gunting as a system tries to take advantage of the bodies' basic instinctive - gross motor skill response to stimuli. By using instinctive-gross motor skill or a survival reflex, an individual under stress or duress does not have to think of the proper-correct response, the reaction is built in. These responses are called bio-mechanical because the body will perform the actions without thought, without extra training for they fit within the parameters of what the human body was designed to do naturally. This is the same system currently being taught to several Law Enforcement and Military groups in the U.S. and abroad. The program is designed to meet the needs of today's armed professional and concerned citizen.

Do you know what to do if some street thug sticks a gun in your face during a robbery, or rape or abduction attempt and threatens to blow your head off if you don’t comply?
You will know exactly what to do after you have completed this class. One of the prevailing arguments against civilian-armed defense is the claim that "you will just have the gun taken away from you and used on you," especially regarding women and firearms.
This 8 hour class, taught by instructor Jim Jacobe, who is a certified Instructor by, The National Law Enforcement Training Center and Lethal Force Institute, and has taught these same techniques to law enforcement personal throughout the nation.
These techniques will allow you to control your weapon, even in a struggle with an adversary who is much bigger and stronger than you. These techniques work even for very small people against large attackers, by using leverage instead of strength to retain your handgun or disarm your attacker.
